1. Out Of Bounds (Rule 27-1)
- Beyond any fence, hedge, wall or white stakes forming course boundries
- Beyond the line of white posts to the right side of the 4th, 5th, 8th and 17th holes
- The practice area to the right side of the 18th hole
- The practice putting green
- The car park and club house
2. Obstructions (Rule 24)
- Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions. Rule 24-1 apples
- Protection of young trees - identified by stakes or guards. If such a tree interferes with
players stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted without penalty
and dropped in accordance with the procedure in Rule 24-2b(i). The ball may be cleaned
when so lifted
- Relief from immovable obstructions is obtained under Rule 24-2
- Immovable obstructions close to the putting green. The specimen local rule page 135 in
the rules of golf applies
- All gravel, shale and artifically surfaced paths, and their wooden surrounds are immovable
obstructions (Rule 24-2 applies). The road to the rear of the 1st hole is an integral part of
the course and the ball
must be played as it lies or declared unplayable (Rule 28)
- Where astro turf covers are on the line of a putt, the ball may be placed, not nearer the hole,
at the nearest point of relief that avoids the cover. Rule 24-2(iii) applies
3. Water Hazards
- Margins of water hazards are identified by yellow stakes or defined by yellow lines
(Rule 26-1a & 1b)
- Margins of lateral water hazards are identified by red stakes or defined by red lines
(Rule 26-1a, 1b & 1c)
4. Ground Under Repair (Rule 25-1)
- All areas identified by white lines or otherwise are designated as G.U.R. from which play is
prohibited. If a player's ball lies in such an area, or if such an area interferes with the player's
stance, or the area of intended swing, the player MUST take relief as provided in Rule 25-1
- Tractor marks. Deep ruts, not mere indentations caused by course machinery are G.U.R.
(Rule 25-1b applies). The ball my be cleaned when so lifted
5. Overhead Wires (Decision 33-8/13)
- If a ball strikes an overhead wire within the boundaries of the course the player MUST disregard
that stroke, abandon the ball and play another ball as near as possible to the spot from which
the original ball was played in accordance with Rule 20-5
6. 100 Yard Markers
- Green/red 100 yard markers are to be treated as immovable obstructions (Rule 24-b)
7. Distance Measuring Devices
- The use of such devices or GPS yardage finders is permitted in all club competitions decision 14-3/0.5
Penalty for breach of local rules :
Match play - Loss of hole
Stroke play - Two strokes

introduced from time to time and deemed to be an extension of these local rules
